Derek Sholl didn’t
start out as a country singer; he signed with the Kansas City Royals
right out of high school, where he was an outfielder. But he eventually traded his bat for a
guitar, scoring a three-year gig opening Jay Leno's Las Vegas show at
the Mirage. Derek's new single “When They Come Back” is currently
climbing iTunes country charts, fueled by recent performances on Fox
News morning show Fox & Friends (video)
and MLB stadiums across the US. Co-written with legendary songwriter
Tim Johnson, “When They Come Back” is a powerful and touching tribute
to American troops returning home from combat. Derek is promoting the
single alongside Staff Sergeant Jeremiah Workman, whose inspiring memoir Shadow of the Sword tells
the very personal story of US troops' post traumatic stress disorder.
“When They Come Back” is now available via The Orchard for
synchronization licensing, along with his just-released album Derek Sholl.
Mr Sholl was born and raised in Torrence, CA, and currently resides in the Houston, TX area.
